The Rosebud Bar is a full service bar and grill located directly behind the classic Rosebud Diner car in Davis Square, Somerville, MA. Thank you for being our friend. We often hear the same questions from folks when we first introduce ourself, so please let us entertain you with answers to your frequently asked questions.
Q: There’s a bar back there?
A: Yes, there’s a bar back there.
Q: You’re kidding. I don’t believe you.
A: That’s not a question!
Q: OK, OK… how do I know you’re not luring me back there just to take my wallet?
A: Promise, Scout’s honor! Please drop by anytime and see for yourself. We’re a lovely bar, open early every day, with great food and drinks, friendly barkeeps and lots of cool stuff going on.
Q: Alright, but…where’s the entrance?
A: The bar has a separate entrance from the diner car. If you’re standing on the sidewalk in front of the diner, look to the right side of the diner; you’ll see a little pathway around back.
Q: Do you do music?
A: Oh yes! For instance…
FRIDAYS: Red Rose Soul Club, with DJ Jordan Valentine spinning 60s soul, funk, R&B and more. Its 10pm-1am and its free. You can check out the RRSC website here.
SATURDAYS: Come check out some of the coolest bands in Boston, every Saturday. The cover is just $5 and music starts at 10pm.
Q: Funny, *I’ve* got one of the coolest bands in Boston (or a cool band touring from elsewhere). How can I get in on those Saturday nights?
A: Email us with your myspace page, website, or whatever at rosebudbooking@gmail.com. Please note, we tend to book bands on the quieter side…think singer/songwriter, roots, Americana, indie, melodic rock n’ roll, 60s soul/R&B, etc. We love quintuple Marshall stacks as much as the next guy but there’s definitely other, more appropriate venues in town for it.
Q: I’ve got a lot of friends. What’s the bar’s capacity?
A: About 100.
Q: What about the rest of the week?
A: Glad you asked! We show all the football, baseball, basketball and hockey games, plus we’ve even got the EPL on the weekends. We’ve got tons of TVs for your viewing pleasure. Don’t miss our Monday Night Football parties either, every week during football season.
Q: You have food?
A: Yup. Awesome pizza, wraps, pub food, etc. Check back for a menu shortly.
Q: Where do I park?
A: There are several metered lots in the Davis Square area. However, parking is at a premium to say the least, so we suggest taking the Red Line to the Davis Square stop (we’re just a few blocks away, on Summer Street).
